Following a raucous Week 1 Saturday, ESPN has updated its Football Power Index (FPI) rankings.

The FPI is a rating system developed over a decade ago to measure team performance in a predictive model. It estimates production from each team's offense, defense and special teams units to create the most accurate possible matchup expectation, like you see on ESPN all the time.

You can view the full FPI top 25 following Week 1 Saturday right here:

    1. Georgia
    2. Alabama
    3. Texas
    4. Ohio State
    5. Penn State
    6. Notre Dame
    7. Tennessee
    8. Ole Miss
    9. Oklahoma
    10. Oregon
    11. Miami
    12. Missouri
    13. Louisville
    14. LSU
    15. Michigan
    16. Auburn
    17. Florida State
    18. Texas A&M
    19. USC
    20. Kansas
    21. UCF
    22. Kansas State
    23. Clemson
    24. Arizona
    25. Utah

The SEC places a triumvirate of teams at the very top of the rankings after each of Georgia, Alabama and Texas steamrolled their opponents — Georgia's just happened to be Clemson, who they beat 34-3. Then, Ohio State arrives as the first Big Ten team.

Notably, though, another Big Ten team, Oregon, plummeted from the top of the rankings after they narrowly squeaked out a win over the Idaho Vandals. They're all the way down at 10th after coming into the weekend as the No. 2 overall squad.

Dan Lanning won't panic, though, because Oregon also got out of the gates slow in his first two seasons. In 2022, Georgia and Kirby Smart defeated the former Bulldog defensive coordinator 49-3 in his head coaching debut. Then, in 2023, Oregon only staved off Texas Tech by eight points.

Oregon has had these scary Week 1s before and bounced back remarkably both times.
