Rebecca Lobo Disputes Eye-Opening Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky Statistic

    By Owen Crisafulli,

Caitlin Clark has had quite an impressive rookie campaign in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, and she's done so despite playing through a lot of physicality from her opponents.

That physicality was on full display in the Fever's latest game against the Chicago Sky, as Clark drew a pair of flagrant fouls throughout the course of the contest.

After the game, an interesting statistic regarding Clark and the amount of times she's been on the receiving end of flagrant fouls, particularly from the Sky, took the internet by storm. However, amid its viral run, Rebecca Lobo made sure to provide some important context to the stat.

While it initially seems like Clark is getting fouled a ton, Lobo points out that the statistic, while accurate, may be a bit misleading.

Clark has only drawn five flagrant fouls this season, with four of them being at the hands of the Sky, so she really isn't in the receiving end of these dirty hits as much as fans initially believed.

Regardless, teams aren't going to stop playing physical defense on Clark anytime soon, but it hasn't slowed her down yet, and chances are it won't anytime soon.
