    WATCH: Micah Meets Bevo

FRISCO — There few things more frightening for an NFL quarterback than Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons hunting them down across the field.

Before "the Lion" is back on the prowl next weekend, he made a trip down to Austin for the Texas Longhorns' season opener. A fun day for the newly minted Southeastern Conference member they treated Parsons to more than a football game.

Parsons met fellow Lonestar state beast Bevo, coming face-to-face with the 15th generation of the Longhorns' famed mascot. Though the cattle appeared quite intimidating, the Longhorns on the field were even more of a punishing force.

Texas throttled Colorado State 52-0, looking all the part of a dominant SEC program.

Parson watched quarterback Quinn Ewers shine, throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns on 20 of 27 passing. Arch Manning also had a part in the action, going five of six through the air for 95 yards and a touchdown.

While Texas took care of business during college football's opening weekend, Parsons' alma mater Penn State followed suit in a 34-12 handling of West Virginia. Both teams looked prime for contention in this year's expanded College Football Playoff.

Texas will headline next Saturday's slate with a top 10 collision with defending national champion Michigan. That will set the table for the first full football weekend of the year with the NFL kicking off this week.

Parsons and the Cowboys headline Sunday's action with a matchup with the Cleveland Browns at 3:25 on FOX.
