'Gonna Take Time!' Can Commanders' Jayden Daniels Get Noah Brown Ready For Buccaneers?

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has exceeded all expectations both on and off the field. His level of leadership has impressed multiple veterans as they have gone through training camp and the preseason.

Earlier this week, the Commanders signed receiver Noah Brown who was cut by the Houston Texans a couple of days before signing in Washington. And once again, Daniels put his leadership skills to work.

He has been staying after practice working with Brown to get him integrated into the offense as he develops a relationship and connection with the former Texan. He was recently asked about that thought process in a session with the media.

"I mean, he's new. I had a whole training camp with the other guys and, you know he just came," Daniels explained. "So just talking through stuff and trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible."

Daniels wasn’t asked to be a leader, or told to be one, he just is. He always has been. He’s a humble, team first, do whatever it takes kind of guy, and it shows in how he treats and works with others.

"It's gonna take time. It's kind of just with anybody, you know," Daniels continued. "The more that y'all communicate to each other, talk different looks, different coverages or different routes, the easier it might be to pick up.

“And he can know what I'm thinking. I can know what he's thinking. We can go from there."

Quarterback-receiver connections can make the difference in a game-winning drive or a game-losing drive.

With a week to go before the Commanders open their season, Daniels and Brown will be burning the midnight oil to get him game ready.
