The schedule for all 30 NBA teams was announced via ESPN’s “NBA Today.” Coming off arguably the most memorable season in franchise history, Oklahoma City Thunder fans were prepared to use the details of the schedule as a measuring stick for where their team ranks among the heavy-hitters.

While the overall takeaway was resoundingly negative, it is important to take into account some of the key details of the schedule. Here is everything about the Thunder’s 2024–25 season you need to know, in a nutshell.

    Schedule numbers crunch

One of the biggest talking points of the offseason was trying to forecast where the Thunder would rank in terms of nationally televised games. For a small-market franchise that won nearly 60 games a season ago, many leaped with excitement, expecting the Thunder to finally earn a heavy number of ABC, TNT, and ESPN games, only to be disappointed with the outcome.

Next season, the Thunder will participate in 25 national broadcasts. However, it’s technically 15 because 10 of the 25 games are on NBA TV, a network many fans don’t have access to.

Here is the breakdown of the national TV games:

    • 9 games on ESPN
    • 5 games on TNT
    • 1 game on ABC (vs. the Denver Nuggets on March 9, 2025)
    • 1o games on NBA TV

Of the 15 games on ESPN, TNT, and ABC, only three will be played at Paycom Center. On an interesting note, the team had just eight national TV games last season, yet four were home games. OKC will also have the most back-to-back games out of any 2024 playoff team, with 16 total.

The start of the season will be critical for how the season shapes out for the Thunder. The team will inevitably need some time to mesh and figure out a role everyone — especially the supporting cast — is comfortable with. However, the challenge will only intensify as the Thunder strap in to take on a tough early slate of games.
