ESPN Predicts Bills Miss Playoffs in 2024

The Buffalo Bills have won the AFC East for each of the last four seasons.

Could that streak come to an end in 2024?

ESPN's Michael Clay not only suggested the Bills would struggle going into the new season, but that they would miss the playoffs entirely.

“This roster is shakier than in years past after the departures of Stefon Diggs, Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Tre'Davious White and others. (Linebacker Matt Milano is also out indefinitely with a torn biceps.),” Clay wrote. “Of course, coach Sean McDermott has done more with less before, and Josh Allen is still the quarterback, so the Bills remain a threat.”

Allen and McDermott are the catalysts for the Bills as they have been in recent years. The problem is the free-agent losses over the last few months have pushed Buffalo's depth to among the weakest it has been in years.

And a big overall reason why Buffalo is not considered the favorite to win the AFC East anymore has solely to do with that reality.

As the Bills traverse an era of football consisting of younger defensive players and skill players, Buffalo knows there is still plenty to prove going into a make-or-break season.
