Joe Andreessen is an undrafted free agent from the Buffalo area.

"Buffalo Joe" has made a name for himself already in his first training camp with the Bills after signing a UDFA contract with his hometown team immediately following the 2024 draft.

To this point, Andreessen has been everything the Bills could have hoped for a depth player at linebacker for the organization.

“He stood out the most there. Every step of the way he checked the box, checked the box, kept himself in play,” general manager Brandon Beane said. “Some people are ready for their opportunity and some are not.”

Andreessen was seen as a player on the roster bubble due to the team's overall depth at the position. After Matt Milano was lost indefinitely due to his torn biceps injury it opened a roster spot for Andreessen to not only make the team but have a role on special teams and beyond.

Players like Dorian Williams, Terrel Bernard, and Nicholas Morrow are penciled in as the starters for the roster going into the 2024 season.

If Andreessen is going to compete with those veterans for a roster spot, he'll need to do the same thing he has over the last month - play better than expected.
