Robert Griffin III was not surprised by Miller Moss rising to the occasion against LSU on Sunday night. He was Moss' potential years ago while calling a USC spring game.

Moss finished with 378 yards and a touchdown as the No. 23 Trojans upset the No. 13 Tigers in the opener for both squads. He came up clutch down the stretch, guiding USC on an eight-play, 75-yard drive that ended with running back Woody Marks scoring the game-winning touchdown with just 8 seconds remaining.

Griffin used some Eminem references to praise Moss on social media after the win.

"Three years ago I called USC’s spring game and there was a QB who was absolutely balling out. His name was Miller Moss," Griffin said. "I called him M&M because he lived what it meant to lose yourself in the music. Tonight was his moment. He owned it. He got his shot and now he won’t ever let it go."

Griffin praised Moss throughout the game, noting his poise when he hit Ja'Kobi Lane on a 28-yard strike earlier in the fourth quarter to put USC up 20-17.

"M&M showing off OWNERSHIP at the line of scrimmage using his cadence as a weapon to get the free play, then throws a DIME to Ja’kobi Lane who had PICTURE PERFECT body leverage and late hands on the catch," Griffin wrote. "That was BEAUTIFUL."

Moss will get another chance to impress Griffin and the rest of the college football world next week when USC hosts Utah State.
