Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever entered the 2024 WNBA All-Star and Olympic break four games under .500 with an 11-15 record. But since emerging from the long in-season pause, the Fever have become one of the hottest teams in the league. Indiana has won six of its last seven games.

The Fever are also on a four-game win streak after taking down the Dallas Wings on Sunday, Sept. 1, on the road, 100-93.

The Fever’s recent success is just part of the journey. Indiana’s focus remains on winning more, as stressed by Mitchell.

“And I think that going forward, we're gonna continue to keep the main thing, and that's winning, one game at a time, focus on the right moments, focus on what matters,” Mitchell told reporters during the postgame press conference.

Mitchell’s statement has fans fired up.

“That needs to be my mantra,” said X (formerly Twitter) user, @incogneeeeto. “I’m gonna continue to keep the main thing the main thing,”

    “That's great 😍🔥 what a beautiful and a positive approach❤️love u and respect,” wrote @umerfrooq188.

From @PauleneFitchett: “Now that’s a mantra we live by!! @KirbySmartUGA used during our Dawgs National Championship runs!!!!”

Said @WaldoTJ: "We've got a good ball club. A great ball club."

    “Kelsey 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” posted @7755468Ma.

It will be interesting to see how long the Fever can sustain their undefeated run. With the momentum they have and the havoc that Mitchell and Caitlin Clark consistently wreak on the court, Indiana has become a big headache for its opponents.

Over their last five games, the Fever have averaged 89.6 points, the second-best in the league in that span.

Against the Wings, Mitchell torched Dallas for 36 points while Clark added 28 points and 12 assists.

The Fever will carry a 17-16 record to their next game on September 4 against the Los Angeles Sparks – Indiana’s first of a six-game homestand.
