Chicago Bears Star Rookie Receives Prestigious Honor

Chicago Bears rookie Caleb Williams received a prestigious honor voted on by the team on Monday ahead of the Bears season opener Sunday against the Tennessee Titans .

Sunday's matchup will be absolutely electric in Soldier Field as Williams makes his NFL debut after being drafted number one overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams had an excellent showing in the preseason and looked more comfortable each game he played. He maintained a 79.2 passer rating and completed 10 of his 20 passes during the preseason for 170 yards.

His leadership, personality, and charisma have been on full display since he's been drafted. Especially on HBO's Hard Knocks , and most teams have the players vote on the team captains entering the season.

Well, Monday morning it was released that Williams was one of eight players to be named a team captain.

He joins Tremaine Edmunds , T.J. Edwards , DJ Moore , Cole Kmet , Kevin Byard , Marcedes Lewis , and Jaylon Johnson as the 2024-25 team captains.

The pressure on his shoulders is immense. Everyone in the city of Chicago is looking to him as the answer, and the organization hasn't had a franchise quarterback in decades to rely on. Now, Caleb Williams looks to change that narrative.
