Jayden Daniels spent the Labor Day Weekend passing the torch at his college. Now he turns his attention to passing for touchdowns as a professional.

The Washington Commanders' budding star quarterback and No. 2 overall draft pick was on the sidelines in Las Vegas Sunday night, watching his LSU Tigers play USC. Before kickoff, Daniels visited LSU's locker room and spent time with his former backup-turned-starter Garrett Nussmeier.

Posted LSU football on its social media: "The torch has been passed."

Daniels won the Heisman Trophy last season at LSU after leading the nation in total offense with 4,946 yards.

Despite Daniels' presence - and enthusiastic support - the Tigers lost late, 27-20, on a USC touchdown with eight seconds remaining.

He now turns his attention to the NFL, where he will make his first pro start for the Commanders Sunday afternoon at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
