Odds have been flip-flopping between Beck and Gabriel for the past couple of months, and now Gabriel takes over after Week 1.

The Ducks barely defeated Idaho in a surprising result, but Gabriel still threw for 380 yards with two touchdowns on 41-of-49 in the 24-14 victory.

Beck, whose Bulldogs team destroyed Clemson 34-3, threw for 278 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the blowout.

Third on the list is Cam Ward, who played his first game for the Hurricanes after transferring from Washington State. Ward looked every bit like a Heisman finalist, throwing for 385 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the 41-17 smackdown of in-state rival Florida.

Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart put up video-game numbers with 418 yards and five touchdowns in the air while also rushing for a score in the win over Furman.

Of all the top 10 on the list, Travis Hunter is the only non-quarterback. Colorado's two-way star was sensational in the opener against North Dakota State, catching seven passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns while also recording three solo tackles.

It is very early, and the majority of these players went up against smaller schools and were massive favorites.

For now, Dillon Gabriel remains on top of the leaderboard.
