The Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line has played very solid the past few seasons, and a lot of that has been due to the great play of the team's right guard, Trey Smith.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report , they rank who they believe are going to be the top ten available free agents in the 2025 offseason, and they have Smith cracking the top half of the list at No. 5.

"While Smith may not have a Pro Bowl on his resume yet, he's a terrific, durable guard for a perennial contender, and he's only 25 years old. It'll be fairly surprising if Kansas City doesn't lock him up well before the offseason," Bleacher Report writes. "The Chiefs made center Creed Humphrey the league's highest-paid center late last month. They'll probably follow suit with Smith sooner than later."

The Chiefs allowed the second-fewest sacks in the league this past season with just 28, and Smith was a big part of that.

He appeared in all 17 games for the team in 2023, and only allowed two sacks. Philadelphia Eagles' star Landon Dickerson is currently the highest paid guard in the league with a four-year, $84 million contract, but Bleacher Report predicts that Smith will pass him and be signed to a four-year, $85 million deal.

If Smith can continue his fantastic play in his fourth season in the league, then he could be set to be paid this coming offseason.
