As the season kicks off, the New York Giants find themselves represented among the league's most underrated players, according to David Kenyon of Bleacher Report. In his recent "All-Underrated Team" feature, Kenyon spotlighted Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton , emphasizing his consistent production and key role in New York's offense.

Slayton's inclusion highlights the Giants' underappreciated talent, positioning them alongside NFC East rivals on a list that showcases overlooked impact players.

Slayton, now in his sixth season, has been a reliable presence for the Giants, recording over 700 receiving yards in four of his five seasons. Despite roster changes and fluctuating team fortunes, his ability to deliver on the field has earned him a spot on this prestigious list.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll has praised Slayton’s contributions , calling him “Mr. Steady” and noting his importance to the team’s offense.

The Giants are not alone in representing the NFC East on this list. Division rivals like the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles also have players recognized for their underrated impact.

The Cowboys' veteran receiver Brandin Cooks, despite playing for five different teams over his career, has maintained a high level of production, while the Eagles' safety Reed Blankenship has emerged as a defensive force after going undrafted in 2022. Both players, like Slayton, underscore the depth of talent within the division that often flies under the radar.

For the Giants, Slayton’s recognition comes amid a season of transition. With new faces such as rookie Malik Nabers and emerging talents like Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt , the competition for playing time is fierce.

Yet, Slayton’s experience and leadership provide stability to a receiving corps in flux, offering a steady hand amid the Giants' offensive evolution.

As the Giants prepare to open their season against the Minnesota Vikings , the recognition of Slayton and his NFC East peers serves as a reminder of the depth and competitiveness within the division.

While the spotlight often falls on star players, it is these overlooked contributors who could make the difference in what promises to be a tightly contested race for the NFC East crown.
