The Indiana Fever made history on Tuesday, September 3, after they clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2016.

Caitlin Clark and Co. weren't even in action on Tuesday, but losses for both the Chicago Sky and the Atlanta Dream ensured that the Fever will get a spot in the postseason. This is also after Indiana has gone 6-1 since returning from the month-long Olympic break, making them one of the hottest teams in the WNBA right now.

The Fever will be looking to make it 7-1 and five straight wins on Wednesday, September 4, when they take on the Los Angeles Sparks. Ahead of the game, Clark spoke to the press as the rookie sensation shared her honest thoughts on her team's recent achievement.

While Clark acknowledged the need to celebrate this incredible milestone, she also hit her team with a blunt reality check.

"It's definitely a big moment for this place but at the same time, I came in with the expectation that this is what's going to happen," she said (h/t Debbie Antonelli of ESPN). "For me, this isn't like, a party. Yeah, it's great, I feel it's a great accomplishment but there's so much more left to be done."

Clark admitted that she's delighted to have clinched a spot in the playoffs with six regular-season games still remaining in their schedule. However, she also stated that she's not "just happy to be in the playoffs." Caitlin believes that the Fever are very much capable of winning and advancing in the postseason.

"I think that's what it is for all of us," she continued. "Yeah, celebrate it, enjoy it. It is really huge for this organization. We haven't been in the playoffs since Tamika (Catchings) was here so it's been a long time."

Clark did not downplay the achievement because as she said, she knows that this is a monumental feat for the organization. At the same time, however, she is well aware of the fact that the job is far from over.
