    Former Husker Keisei Tominaga set for G League United debut

    Former Nebraska men’s basketball standout Keisei Tominaga is set to make his debut for the G League United team on Wednesday night.

    Tominaga was announced as part of the select team for the NBA ’s developmental league last month .

    On Wednesday and Friday, Tominaga and United will play BC Mega MIS, a premier Serbian team, in the NBA G League Fall Invitational. Past Mega players include NBA centers Ivica Zubac, Boban Marjanovic and three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

    After those games, Tominaga’s squad will compete in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, which features the top team from each continent, in Singapore next week from Sept. 12-15.

    The former Husker is the only rookie on the 12-member United squad and is coming off representing Japan in the Paris Olympics. In July, he signed a contract with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers .

    Before graduating this past spring, Tominaga played three seasons for the Big Red, racking up 1,074 points and 178 made threes, putting him seventh on Nebraska’s career three-point list and 30th in career scoring. His senior season, he averaged 15.1 points per game and was named second-team All- Big Ten .

    His G League United debut is set for 9 p.m. (CT) with both Wednesday’s and Friday’s games to be played in Santa Cruz, Calif.
