Robert Griffin III Reveals His College Football Heisman Favorite

Former ESPN analyst and NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III recently took to social media to share his Heisman trophy favorites after two weekends of college football.

While Week 0 didn't give out too many Heisman highlights, Week 1 was filled with peak levels of college football.

Griffin shared his top eight Heisman front runners, but he thought one player stood out in particular.

The former Heisman trophy winner with Baylor Bears in 2011 is giving the nod to Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Griffin thinks he should be viewed as the favorite to win the Heisman trophy after he recorded six touchdowns on 267 yards and 20 carries against Georgia Southern.

Jeanty is playing in his third season with the Boise State Broncos. Last season the 5-foot-9 running back notched 14 touchdowns on 1,262 yards and 203 carried.

With his stat line against Georgia Southern in Week 1, Jeanty helped lead the Broncos to a 56-45 victory.

The talented back will have a chance to show his true talent against one of the top teams in the country, with Boise State scheduled to play the No. 7 Oregon Ducks in Week 2.

A few other Heisman candidates on Griffin's list include Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who recorded four touchdowns on 304 yards and 10 receptions in Week 1. He's the No. 2 player on Griffin's board.

The only other non-quarterback listed is Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback star Travis Hunter.

The two-sided phenom recorded three touchdowns on 132 yards and seven receptions on offense and allowed just 18 yards while playing 69 snaps on defense.

A few other names listed on Griffin's Heisman front runners are quarterbacks Cam Ward from the Miami Hurricanes, Carson Beck from the Georgia Bulldogs, and Shedeur Sanders from Colorado.
