USA Gymnastics star Hezly Rivera threw the ceremonial first pitch before the Texas Rangers took on the New York Yankees on Wednesday, September 4, and it was truly unforgettable.

In fact, the Rangers and the MLB had nothing but great words to say about Rivera's unique first pitch, which the 16-year-old Olympian admitted she practiced a "few times" before Wednesday's appearance at Globe Life Field, per Dallas News.

So what did Rivera do for her first pitch? Well, she effortlessly pulled off an aerial flip before throwing the ball to Rangers infielder Justin Foscue.

According to Rivera, the flip is like a "signature" move for her, so she wanted to incorporate it into her pitch.

The Rangers and the MLB were impressed by her performance. On X (formerly Twitter), the Texas franchise gave Rivera a "perfect 10" for her incredible display .

Meanwhile, the MLB's X account called it an "unreal" first pitch while also sharing a photo of Rivera mid-air as she was flipping.

"Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Hezly Rivera threw an unreal first pitch strike at the Rangers game," the MLB wrote.

It's definitely awesome to see Hezly Rivera get her well-deserved honor and recognition.

Rivera, who was the youngest member of US women's gymnastics team, won gold during the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was part of the team all-around event, which the Americans dominated en route to the top prize.

While Rivera didn't perform during the team final, she did participate in the beam and uneven bars events during the qualifying round. Now, she's not only an Olympian but also a gold medalist.

Rivera was originally from New Jersey but is now residing in Plano, Texas after moving there to train at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy.

It remains to be seen what's next for Rivera, but considering her age, fans will probably see her a lot more in the years to come as she looks to advance her gymnastics career .
