First Take host Molly Qerim is facing some serious backlash from Caitlin Clark fans following her comments about the Indiana Fever rookie earlier this year.

Just after Clark was left off the Team USA roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Qerim fervently supported the decision — saying it would "hurt the game" if Clark was given a spot over someone "more deserving."

Qerim said it would've made a "mockery of the women's game" if Clark had been selected to represent the United States. She went on to argue that Clark is "not as talented" as each player that earned a spot on the team.

Clark has since emphatically proved herself as one of the WNBA greatest players, recording two historic triple-doubles and shattering multiple all-time league records. The former Iowa superstar now holds the third-best odds to win MVP, trailing only A'ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier.

Qerim recently backpedaled on her controversial comments.

"No one denied the fact that she's a star and she couldn't play," Qerim said.

Clark and the Fever are on fire since the All-Star Game break. The Indiana squad is on a five-game winning streak, including a 93-86 win over the Los Angeles Sparks that saw Clark record her second career WNBA triple-double.
