It's still early in the season, but several college football players have made their mark on the sport with great performances. One of those players is the do-everything star Travis Hunter from the Colorado Buffaloes.

Hunter had an outstanding game, making seven catches for 132 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He also excelled on defense with three tackles and effectively locked down his side of the field while playing cornerback.

His performance led former ESPN "College GameDay" analyst David Pollack to name Hunter the best college football player.

“Travis Hunter was an animal out wide,” Pollack said when discussing Hunter’s performance in Week 1. “He might be the best player in all of college football.”

That's high praise from Pollack, but he's not the only one who has been singing Hunter's praises. ESPN's Paul Finebaum also called Hunter the best player in college football earlier this week.

The praise didn't stop there, as ESPN's NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. called Hunter the best player available for the upcoming draft and compared him to NFL great Champ Bailey during an appearance on "Get Up" this week.

Bailey was drafted as the seventh pick in the 1999 NFL draft and went on to play 16 seasons in the NFL. While at Georgia, Bailey won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy in 1998 for being the best defender in college football. Like Hunter, Bailey also played on offense and defense, finishing his final season with 47 catches for 744 yards and five touchdowns at wide receiver.

It's high praise for Hunter, but he has proven those opinions to be true so far.
