Liberty Star Sabrina Ionescu Posts Huge Assist From Popular Actor

Sabrina Ionescu had another stellar showing in the New York Liberty's win over the Seattle Storm, 77-70, on Sept. 4, tallying 17 points, six rebounds and a game-high eight assists.

It was an extra special evening for Ionescu, who wore a new colorway of her highly popular signature shoe, the "Sabrina 2 By You." Aside from the Liberty's colors, there were also splashes of yellow, pink and purple.

Apparently, it wasn't Nike who made the design. It was actor Jason Sudeikis and his seven-year-old daughter, Daisy, who are both often seen sitting courtside during Liberty's games.

ESPN Women revealed the news on Instagram and Ionescu reposted it on her Instagram Story.

Sudeikis' design was well-appreciated by the three-time All-Star and debuted the pair in their game against the Storm. The "Ted Lasso" star was on hand to see his work in action.

The 48-year-old actor is known as a big fan of women's basketball. Aside from the Liberty, he's a huge supporter of Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, even during her college days at Iowa. He's also been spotted at a handful of WNBA games in the past.

With Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones leading the way, the league-leading Liberty are on track to lock up the top seed and homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.

Ionescu is averaging a career-high 19.4 points on top of 4.6 rebounds and a team-high 6.0 assists in her fifth season in the Big Apple.
