On Saturday, Alabama takes on South Florida in a rematch of a game that was too close for comfort last year. The Crimson Tide have a record of 2-0 against the Bulls, beating them in 2003 and last year. This is the first time the Bulls have traveled to Tuscaloosa for this matchup.

South Florida head coach Alex Golesh, the former Tennessee offensive coordinator, did an excellent job of turning around his team in his first year. The Bulls went from a 1-11 record in 2022 to a 7-6 record in 2023, ending the year with a win over Syracuse in the Boca Raton Bowl.

    USF Athletics

Redshirt sophomore Byrum Brown returns as the starting quarterback after throwing for over 3,200 yards and 26 touchdowns last year, adding over 800 yards and 11 scores on the ground. Wide receiver Sean Atkins is back after finishing with over 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last year.

The Crimson Tide aren't expected to have too much difficulty with this matchup, but they can't get caught looking ahead to upcoming games against Wisconsin and Georgia. South Florida is a well-coached team that will have tricks up its sleeve this week. Tune in on Saturday at 6:00 PM CST for this Week 2 matchup.
