This is an important season for Billy Bowman Jr. While he’s been nothing short of a superstar in college, there are some mixed opinions on how his game will translate to the NFL. Personally, I think any team would benefit from Billy’s presence on the field and in the locker room. However, when you look at the various mock drafts that have been published, Bowman has been projected anywhere from late first round to sixth round. Granted, none of this means all that much in the present but it is fair to assume that Billy may use some of the doubters as motivation to perform his best on Saturdays.

Here’s what was on Billy’s mind earlier this week when talking to reporters about the upcoming game with Houston.

How does it feel to get past that opening game?

Billy: It feels amazing. You know, the season’s finally here. It feels like it was a long process which it was but time flies. We went 1 and 0 so looking forward to doing that again this week.

How did you feel the defense played as a whole?

I feel like we played well. We played together and communicated. We were prepared. Shout out to our coaches for helping us stay on top of everything!

What have you seen from Houston so far?

They’ve got athletes everywhere both offensively and defensively. They've got a good dual threat quarterback who transferred from Texas Tech. They have some good receivers that we will have to cover pretty well.
