Mike Gundy’s Blunt Remarks Against NCAA is Turning Heads

The Oklahoma State Cowboys made a surprising move before the season as it was announced that they would wear QR codes on their helmets that link to the program's general team fund for NIL.
However, the NCAA did not allow those QR codes to get approval, with the NCAA stating it views the decals as "advertising and/or commercial marks."
On Friday, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy made a blunt remark toward the NCAA for their questionable decision as he was interviewed on Sirius XM radio.
“Basically, if you can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, then it’s tough to lead," Gundy said. "And that’s what you’re getting right now from the NCAA.”
Gundy made sure not to hide his feelings one bit and had a strong criticism of the NCAA.
“They pulled the uniform code violation on us,” Gundy said. “I’ll be really honest with you, Rick, I think that they do everything they can do now to show that they have a little bit of power. And this was an opportunity for them to say, ‘Okay, we have a little power. We’re gonna make a statement,’ when in theory, you and I both know they don’t have any power anymore.”
Gundy's remarks toward the NCAA turned plenty of heads and caught people's attention on social media.
"That’s MY coach! #GoPokes," one fan wrote.
Gundy also admitted the NCAA would punish the player if they didn't remove the decals, which led the Cowboys coach to immediately take them off the helmets.
"If I'm a player this makes me love Gundy FWIW," one fan wrote on X. "He tried to get NCAA to punish him so OSU could do QR codes anyways."
Gundy is known for always having a golden quote, and this was another perfect example.
"When Mike Gundy starts a sentence with “basically,” half the time you’re in for an absolute zinger," another fan wrote.
Another fan took note of Gundy's tone.
"SASSY GUNDY OMG WE ARE WINNING THE NATTY."
One fan even mentioned that Gundy should wear a shirt with the QR code on it.
"Y’all don’t know how cool it would be if @CoachGundy wore a tshirt with the QR code on it tomorrow," a fan mentioned.
Mike Gundy does not seem too thrilled with the NCAA's decision on the QR code wrinkle, and he had no problems making his feelings known.
