The LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, and Florida Gators all suffered losses in their season openers. LSU last won a national title in 2019, and Florida's last in 2008. The Aggies won a national championship in 1939.

Roman Harper offered some insight into LSU following Week 1. The Tigers lost to the USC Trojans at Allegiant Stadium 27-20. LSU was driving on USC late in the game but was stopped and settled for a field goal with under two minutes to go. The Trojans then capitalized and scored a touchdown with eight seconds left.

Harper officially gave LSU zero chance of making the College Football Playoff on "SEC Nation." Harper used a cooking analogy to describe LSU's chances.

"Laura, if we were in the kitchen right now, I would say to take them out the oven cause we done," Harper said. "It's a wrap. It's over. That's just being honest with you."

The Tigers must still face the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ole Miss Rebels, and Oklahoma Sooners before the end of the regular season. The 2019 season was the last time that the program reached the playoff.

LSU can earn its first win of the season against the Nicholls Colonels in Week 2 in Baton Rouge. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network+ and ESPN+.
