On Saturday afternoon, the reigning National Champion Michigan Wolverines welcomed the Texas Longhorns to the Big House for a highly-anticipated matchup with massive College Football Playoff implications.

The energy inside the Big House was palpable before kickoff — and that energy reached new heights for the Michigan band's performance of the United States National Anthem.

The Michigan Marching Band formed an "M" at centerfield and delivered its rendition of the National Anthem.

College football fans weren't exactly thrilled with the performance.

"That national anthem by the michigan band was off key lmao very cringe," one fan wrote.

"Aye Michigan’s band sounded terrible just now..wtf was that," another said.

"If the game is anything like that Michigan band, Texas will stomp Michigan," another added.

"Is it just me or did the Michigan band sound awful?" another asked.

While many fans piled on the Michigan Marching Band, others blamed the Fox Sports broadcast for its audio mixing.

Texas entered Saturday afternoon's contest as a 6.5-point favorite over the home-team Wolverines.
