Fox's Gus Johnson Under Fire for Comments About Steve Sarkisian's Personal Life

At the end of July, it was reported that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal Sarkisian, were jointly filing for divorce.
Fox's play-by-play analyst Gus Johnson appeared not to get that memo or care about the delicate situation, as he credited Loreal for the head coach's pregame outfit during the first half of the meeting between the No. 3 Texas Longhorns and No. 10 Michigan Wolverines.
"Did you see Steve Sarkisian walk into the stadium today," Gus Johnson asked Joel Klatt. "He was clean! His wife Loreal put him together."
A comment that fans have been putting him on blast for.
"Gus Johnson talking about Steve Sarkisian’s wife despite him being in the middle of a divorce was very funny," wrote one fan.
"Gus Johnson started talking about how lean Sark was looking and about made a comment about Steve Sarkisian’s wife (they’re going through a divorce), only to stop mid-sentence. Bailed out by Joel Klatt on a save," commented another.
"Gus Johnson kills me mentions Sarks Wife then remembers their getting divorced then just ends sentence," chimed in another."
While fans may be upset with Johnson, Sarkisian himself hinted at the fact that Loreal still dressed him before the game. When making an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay. After being complimented for his fashion, Sarkisian credited someone at home.
"You know, I have one at home," Sarkisian said . "She does a great job for me man."
A sentiment that Loreal confirmed in an Instagram comment during Week 1 of the college football season. After a fan asked if she dressed the head coach, Loreal confirmed that she ''always" dresses him.
"I definitely dressed him," Loreal wrote about Sarkisian's Week 1 outfit. "I always do 🤍."
When they announced their divorce on their respective social media accounts using the same statement, they did express the desire to remain friends.
“After many heartfelt conversations, we have decided to amicably part ways and jointly file for divorce," the couple wrote . "We aim to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have shared throughout our journey together."
It wouldn't be shocking if part of that friendship entails her styling the Longhorns head coach, considering she is a stylist. However, bringing up on air is a bit of an awkward moment from Johnson.
