The Texas Longhorns looked like a true contender on Saturday after beating the Michigan Wolverines 31-12. Starting quarterback, Quinn Ewers was electric, finishing the contest with 246 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian has his guys playing their best early on in the season and fans are loving it. Including famed actor, Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey, who attended and graduated from the University of Texas was in attendance at Saturday's game and was over the moon with the results.

Once the game was concluded, McConaughey was spotted talking to Ewers, as well as backup quarterback Arch Manning. McConaughey congratulated the Texas quarterbacks, even telling Ewers, "You're going all the way."

Immediately after congratulating Ewers, McConaughey dapped up Manning as well. Although Manning didn't play, the famed actor made sure to include Manning while making his rounds congratulating the team.

Since being posted at approximately 4:53 P.M. Eastern, ESPN's video has received Over 31,000 views, 2,500 likes, and 150 reposts, as of this publishing.

McConaughey is an alumni of the University of Texas and is currently a professor at the school. His class focuses on the production process of film making.

The Interstellar star graduated from Texas with a film degree in 1993. He did not see the Longhorns win a national championship during his time there.

He's often shown his support for the football program throughout his career. With the Longhorns playing well, McConaughey might be ecstatic with how this season ends.

However, he did get to witness the 2005 championship win when star quarterback Vince Young put up 467 total yards and three rushing touchdowns to beat Reggie Bush and the USC Trojans 41-38.

This season might be a bit different for the Longhorns. Sarkisian has built a powerhouse of a program as they're strong in nearly every facet of the game. But they still must prove themselves now that they play in the SEC.

So far it's been great for Texas. After making a College Football Playoff appearance last season, the Longhorns aim for more success in 2024. Through two games they've outscored their opponents 83-12.

Sarkisian and his team have a string of favorable matchups ahead. However, they do have some tough games on the schedule later in the season. Texas will have a true test midway. through the regular season as they take on the Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, and Texas A&M Aggies.

The Longhorns' Week 3 matchup is against the UTSA Roadrunners. They're not viewed as a top program but are considered a solid team in the AAC Conference.
