Teoscar Hernández is set to avoid the injured list after a recent scare during a game against the Cleveland Guardians. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder was hit by a slider from pitcher Matthew Boyd, impacting his left foot and ankle in the first inning. Although he initially tried to continue playing, he ultimately had to leave the game.

Hernández will not be in the lineup for the next game but is optimistic about returning soon, possibly by Monday or Tuesday, depending on how he feels. The Dodgers are already dealing with injuries to key players, including Gavin Stone, who was placed on the injured list due to shoulder inflammation.

With Hernández sidelined temporarily, the Dodgers are expected to utilize Andy Pages and Tommy Edman alongside Mookie Betts in the outfield. If Hernández's condition worsens, the team may call up James Outman as an additional outfield option.

As of now, the Dodgers hold a solid position in the standings, sitting a game behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the best record in baseball and maintaining a four-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the NL West. The Dodgers are gearing up for a crucial series against the Padres later this month, which could have significant implications for their playoff positioning.
