Woodi Washington is excited to be back competing for Oklahoma

Some games are more difficult than others but the sign of a truly tough team is one that can face adversity head on and still persevere. Oklahoma faced those challenges on Saturday night but came away with the win. Woodi Washington talked about what it was like to secure the victory over Houston.

First game back for you this year. How did it feel to get back out there?

Woodi: It felt great just going out and being able to compete with my brothers. It wasn’t the way we wanted to win but we got a W so we’re all excited about that.

Gracen was talking about how the defense has a fireman mentality going out there just putting out fires. Can you walk us through what that mentality is like for you?

Woodi: For me I feel like it’s just a mindset that we have. Every time we go out there, we’re just itching to get a stop. We’ve got to get the ball back for the offense and I think we do a great job of that. And as far as the defense goes, I think we play really hard and we play really physical.

What was your perspective on Gracen’s play?

Woodi: It was great. Gracen has come a long way. He made a lot of plays last week and I think he’s going to continue to make plays for us throughout the rest of the year.
