A Cumberland County man admitted Friday that he fatally shot a man in 2018.

Yusef Abdullah, 22, was shot at about 1 p.m. June 1, 2018, in the lobby of the Fox Manor Hotel in Atlantic City.

Leon Green was actually aiming for James Waugh , the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office previously said. He was not struck. He wound up shot in the back in a Pleasantville shooting that August. Waugh survived.

Abdullah was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus and then transferred to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. He died weeks later.

Green was arrested fleeing the shooting, and jailed on charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault. He eventually was charged with murder, and he was indicted that September .

The troubled Fox Manor closed not long after.

Green, now 33, faces a 30-year sentence under the plea agreement. He would have to serve at least 25½ years under the No Early Release Act.

When he is sentenced May 2, he will have credit for about five years and 11 months, which means he would likely be eligible for parole before his 53rd birthday.

    Green remains jailed pending sentencing.
