It may not be the headliner that some Texas football fans have been waiting for, but they still added another member to their Class of 2025 as it continues to build momentum.

The latest Longhorns commitment is Jonathan Cunningham , a linebacker from Ft. Worth (Texas) North Crowley, rated as a three-star by 247Sports and a four-star by Rivals.com . Cunningham picked the Longhorns ahead of fellow finalists TCU and Utah, per 247Sports. Cunningham marks 14 members of the Longhorns' 2025 class, and the second linebacker among the group.

Per 247Sports, Cunningham is rated as a top-50 linebacker nationally in the class. Per the rising high school senior, the decision to join the Longhorns wasn't a hard one to make.

"The way coach (Johnny) Nansen and coach (Steve) Sarkisian show me how much I can be developed there, it's close to home too," Cunningham told Horns247's Jordan Scruggs . "And the atmosphere and the culture. It's a lot of love and it's like one big whole family."

While Cunningham isn't as highly rated as some other members of Texas' class, the fact that Utah was one of the other contenders recruiting him gave some Texas fans reason to be excited.

The Utes have had success plucking slightly under-the-radar prospects from talent rich markets like Texas and California in recent years, so their interest in Cunningham serves almost as a seal of approval of the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder's ability to develop into a major contributor.

Texas fans will be watching and hoping.
