Legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban made his opinion clear when asked about Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning during an interview on ESPN's SportsCenter, which took place during the 2024 SEC media days.

During the Wednesday night interview with host Kevin Negandhi, Saban highlighted the quarterback situation for Texas as they prepare to enter the SEC, focusing on Manning, Quinn Ewers, and Cole Lourd.

"Well, I think one of the key things is, what kind of depth do you have on your team? And the one thing Texas has is they actually have three good quarterbacks," Saban stated.

Saban then went on to personally praise Manning's performance in the spring game, highlighting his impressive statistics.

"I saw them all operate in their spring game, but, you know, Arch Manning was fantastic in the game. He was like 21 of 26 for 347 yards or something."

Acknowledging Steve Sarkisian's role in Manning's development, Saban credited the Texas head coach for preparing Manning and the other quarterbacks effectively.

"It says a lot about Sark, who needed to get this young guy experience knowing that if and when he does have an issue with an injury, he was gonna gain enough playing time and confidence to be able to go in and play effectively for them," Saban commented.

While Ewers is expected to start the season for Texas, Sarkisian mentioned in an ESPN interview that both quarterbacks may see action during the upcoming season.

With the pressure of living up to his family name and the endorsement from Nick Saban, Manning faces high expectations heading into the upcoming season, which might provide him with added motivation and confidence on the field.
