Conner Weigman Is The Talk of College Football After Texas Comments Go Viral

The Texas Longhorns are one of the teams many fans expect to see not only in the College Football Playoffs but also making a run at the national championship game. They’ll have one of the toughest schedules in the country from start to finish. They head up north to take on the defending college football champions in the Michigan Wolverines week two, and they close out the season with a renewed rivalry against an in-state foe they haven’t faced since 2011, the Texas A&M Aggies.
While that game might seem far away, its importance isn’t being lost on the Aggies. Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman is drawing all sorts of attention after letting media members know how badly he wants to beat the Longhorns.
“I mean I’ve always wanted to beat Texas,” Weigman said. “That’s a given. I don’t know if it was more after that, but yeah that’s a given, that’s gonna happen.”
However, that didn’t always seem to be the case according to some fans who are pulling up old receipts.
Another fan posted a similar photo showing Weigman’s thoughts as a Texas recruit where he seemed to carry a different opinion of the Longhorns.
“He wanted to play at Texas you dummies,” Frank Banks chimed in.
Many fans believe Weigman should focus on the teams he has to play before getting to the rest of the season.
The Aggies don’t necessarily have an easy start to the season either.
“Brother gotta make it through a full [season] before he tries to write a check like this,” another fan commented.
Fans are bookmarking this statement in case Weigman’s hopes don’t turn out the way he envisioned. However, an upset against an in-state conference rival they haven’t faced in more than a decade would be a legendary way to end the season and silence the haters.
