Shavon Hasley, 29, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of endangering children and OVI last Wednesday.

A warrant was issued for her arrest on April 20 after concerned bar patrons called police to inform them Hasley spent several hours inside a bar drinking while a 7-year-old child was left outside in a vehicle. Patrons told police when Hasley left the bar, she attempted to drive off intoxicated with the child.

Judge Scott Hunter sentenced Hasley to 90 days in the Mahoning County Jail with 90 days suspended — meaning she will not serve time on the child endangering charge unless she violates her 12-month probation.

For the OVI charge, Hasley was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspended. Court records also state that in lieu of or in addition to jail, Hasley will attend a driver intervention program .

Hasley will pay a combined $900 in fines and $150 in court costs.

She also entered a guilty plea on minor traffic charges, adding an additional $100 fine and $20 in court costs.

Hasley is facing an additional child endangering charge in a separate incident after police responded to her home in June for reports that her children were running around the neighborhood unsupervised and causing issues with other children.

When police spoke to Hasley, reports stated she was intoxicated and the home was in a state of disarray. During an inspection of the house, officers reported that the floor was sticky, there were holes in the walls, the furniture appeared dirty and stained, and the bathroom area was covered in a dirty film.

The charge stemming from that investigation is still pending in court, with Hasley set to return for pretrial Aug. 9.
