You could live in this century-old Bucksport bank for half a million dollars

A 114-year old brick bank building on Main Street in Bucksport with a high-end apartment in the basement is on the market for just over half a million dollars.

The red brick building, built in 1910, consists of a large open space with tin ceilings on the ground floor, which also still has the original vault and vault door. Two spiral staircases lead down to the two-bedroom apartment in the basement, while a third spiral staircase leads to a small loft above the ground floor vault.

The asking price for the property , which is listed by The Masiello Group, is $524,000.

Built on a quarter-acre lot on the corner of Main and Federal streets, the former bank housed local branches of Merrill Trust Company and Fleet Bank before it was sold to private owners in 1992, according to documents filed in the Hancock County Registry of Deeds.
