Twin Sisters Involved in Fatal Crash in Orange County
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday, July 21, in Orange County. According to state police, the crash took place at 8:38 a.m. on Route 20 just north of Route 639 (Jacksontown Rd). A 2013 Mazda CX9, driven by Abigail L. Matthies, 22, of Chesapeake was traveling north when it failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Abigail Matthies was not injured in the crash. Her twin sister Isabelle S. Matthies was a passenger in the vehicle.
