Sanker to Join Coach's Corner with Tony Elliott Tuesday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Another season of Coach’s Corner with Tony Elliott returns to the airwaves tonight (Aug. 27) and will take place the Dairy Market, Charlottesville’s Premier Food Hall (946 Grady Ave). The weekly radio show is set to air from 7-8 p.m., and is hosted by John Freeman, the “Voice of the Cavaliers.”
Candidates Endure Rigors on Path to Naval ROTC Program
They met as strangers and became a team. Seven candidates to be midshipmen in the University of Virginia’s Naval ROTC program arrived on Grounds well in advance of their classmates’ move-in days for three days of military training. The candidates, all planning to eventually be commissioned in the U.S. Navy, had participated in some introductory training at the Great Lakes Naval Station, but this was their first time together as UVA NROTC candidates.

VSU Responds To The Passing Of Longtime University Archivist Dr. Lucious Edwards Jr.
We are saddened to share with you that former Virginia State University archivist and professor Dr. Lucious Edwards Jr passed away over the weekend. A two-time graduate of VSU, A two-time graduate of VSU, Dr. Edwards dedicated his life to collecting and preserving our history, serving as University archivist from 1977 until his retirement in 2013. In addition, he was an adjunct faculty member and a leader on multiple institutional committees, underscoring his deep devotion to teaching and commitment to the mission of VSU. In recognition of his lasting impact, Dr. Edwards was awarded an honorary degree during the Spring 2024 Commencement.
