    RIDOH recommends closing local beach, reopening others

    BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is recommending closing Barrington Town Beach due to high bacteria counts.

    The status of the beach may change as new data becomes available.

    RIDOH is also recommending reopening Briar Point Beach in Coventry and Hope Community Service Pond in Scituate because previously high bacteria counts have returned to normal levels.
