EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - High School football previews continue on. Let’s venture back over to Kentucky to Henderson Co. High School, for a closer look at the Colonels. Last season, the Colonels finish strong winning four out of their last six games, ending at 5-7. This year’s team does include six sophomore starters, but Head Coach Josh Boston said last year, an even younger went through the tough parts of the year, and it made them stronger.
Apollo Football looking to right the ship after 2-8 season
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - High school football previews continue along, as today we checked in on Apollo’s practice to learn more about the Eagles. Last year, the Apollo Eagles went 2-8, and are looking to turn a new page this year. They have some stability on their side on offense, returning starter Max Johnson, along with JT Edge, Jamison Brown, and Carson Carter. But this season, Head Coach John Edge says to accomplish their goal of winning more games, they are breaking things down, and not trying to bite off more than they can chew.

Rangers football leaning on experience with 17-man senior class
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Next up, we go right back to Indiana to Ferdinand, to check in with the Forest Park Rangers. Last year, the Rangers made a big time jump, going from 1-9 in 2022 to 6-5 in 2023. Exciting for them this year, they return almost all of their starters. Their experience will be a huge benefit for this team, as they have a senior class of 17 kids! This was a Forest Park squad that was able to taste success last season, winning in the first round of the sectionals over Mitchell. Now, they are going for more.
