Bastrop PD release more information about body found near Daisy Street; foul play suspected

UPDATE: On June 23, 2024, Bastrop Police responded to Daisy Street in reference to a deceased body that was located in a wooded area behind a residence. According to authorities, foul play is suspected and Bastrop Police is investigating the matter.

Authorities have not identified the body. Bastrop Police also mentioned that a 14-year-old juvenile was reported missing in Morehouse Parish on June 21, 2024, at 11:30 PM.

BASTROP, La. ( KTVE/KARD ) — On June 24, 2024, Chief Leondrio Reed of the Bastrop Police Department confirmed that a body was found in a wooded area near Vesta Street on June 23, 2024. According to authorities, they received a call from the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office about the human remains on June 23, 2024, around 4:44 PM.

Chief Reed confirmed that the body was sent to Little Rock, Ark. for an autopsy, and the body has not been identified. No further details can be provided to the public at this time.
