90-year-old woman dies after two-vehicle crash in Gonzales
GONZALES - A woman died after a two-vehicle crash in Gonzales Wednesday afternoon, according to Louisiana State Police. Jean Ducote, 90, of Lafayette, was in the passenger seat of a Mazda driving on LA 74 at 12 p.m. Wednesday. According to LSP, the Mazda made a right turn onto Chester Diez Road, but a Ford Escape traveling behind the vehicle failed to brake and collided with the rear of the Mazda. As a result, the Mazda traveled off the roadway into a ditch.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department confirms it is investigating after a complaint was filed by a man who alleges his property is missing more than a year after he was questioned inside the Brave Cave. Zartavious Martin was taken to the facility back in June 2023 and was questioned after being pulled over for a traffic stop. In a complaint filed with BRPD, Martin’s legal team alleges officers took a chain and pendant from him before he was taken into the facility, and the property was never returned. The complaint was filed with BRPD on June 26, 2024.
4 facing drug charges after Livingston Parish deputies seize meth, fentanyl
LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Four people were arrested after an investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. Agents with the LPSO Narcotics Division got a complaint about the distribution of fentanyl in Livingston Parish, according to the sheriff’s office. Sheriff Jason Ard said the complaint centered around Kelvin “BoBo” Johnson, 48, of Baton Rouge.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced three people have been arrested for their roles in a in a June 2024 shooting in Thibodaux. David Bonds, 35, and Ronald Vallejo, 33, both of Thibodaux, were arrested for the attempted murder of Floyd Gage, 45, of Thibodaux who was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm following the incident. Bonds and Gage both suffered injuries in the shooting.
