Bradford man arrested on multiple charges after domestic dispute

BRADFORD, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A Bradford man has been arrested on multiple charges following a domestic dispute in the Village of Bath last week.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, Aaron L. Barnard, 41, was arrested on Friday, July 5, on the following charges:

• One count of assault in the second degree, a class D felony
• Two counts of criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor
• Three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor
• Resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor
• Harassment in the second degree, a violation

Barnard’s arrest follows an incident that occurred around 7:17 a.m. on Friday, July 5, where police say they were called to an address on Chestnut Street for the report of a physical domestic dispute between a male and a female.

After arriving at the scene, police say that they were investigating the incident when Barnard struck one of the police officers in the face and attempted to choke them. After fighting with police, Barnard was then taken into custody and was taken by Bath Ambulance to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries, along with the injured officer. Both were treated and released.

After being released from the hospital, Barnard was taken to the Bath Village Police.
