ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Adams County deputies said they arrested a man, who was wanted in Louisiana on child porn charges, after he fled from authorities.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said they received a call around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11 from the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations (LBI) about the suspect, 25-year-old Chad Dewayne Bouchaund, Jr., of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

LBI agents said Bouchaund was wanted for six counts of pornography involving children under the age of 13 and one count of computer aided solicitation of a minor.

Patten said Adams County deputies located Bouchaund in the parking lot of the Dollar General on Highway 61 North in Washington, Mississippi. He was arrested at the location.

As the suspect was being patted down, Patten said the deputies felt what they believed to be a gun in his jacket pocket. He said Bouchaund started to resist the deputy, was able to get free and ran across the parking lot of the Tractor Supply.

The sheriff said a good Samaritan saw Bouchaund fleeing and blocked him off with his truck, while another good Samaritan tackled Bouchaund and knocked his shoes off in the process.

Deputies said they were able to take Bouchaund into custody again and recovered a gun from his jacket pocket. They said the weapon was reported stolen out of Lewisville, Texas.

Bouchaund was transported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked for attempt to escape, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

Patten said Bouchaund was not alone when deputies found him in Washington. They also arrested and transported 23-year-old Tyreik Jayon Webster to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

“Everyone involved in these arrested did very well getting these individuals off the streets but we want to give a specials thanks to citizens whom put themselves at risk to assist our deputies with these captures,” said Patten.
