LSU Tigers wide receivers look like they could be key to 2024 college football success as fall camp kicks off

The LSU wide receiver room has been a major point of interest this off-season as the Tigers are looking to replace two first round picks in Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. this year.
The good news for LSU fans and Brian Kelly is that all throughout spring there were six different playmakers who stood out as potential strong starters. The bad news for those six talented wideouts is that only three of them likely earn a productive role. Let's check out the top potential stars at wide receiver as fall camp is set to kick off.
LSU Wide Receiver Fall Camp Preview
Projected Starting Wide Receivers
Kyren Lacy
CJ Daniels
Aaron Anderson
Kyren Lacy is the most productive returning wide receiver from the 2023 LSU offense. And while the offense might look a bit different with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock gone, Lacy should be the presumed favorite to assume the Malik Nabers role from last year. He spent plenty of time in a variety of roles on the offense a year ago, winning both inside and out. There's a great chance he leads the team in targets as WR1.
CJ Daniels should be the other primary outside wide receiver once the fall camp depth chart settles into final view. Many fans might want to see Chris Hilton Jr. finally get his shot as a starter, but Daniels is likely too good. He spent plenty of time with the second team this spring, but once camp ramps up that likely changes. Daniels has logged almost 1700 career snaps (much more than Hilton's less than 350) and is fresh off a 1000-yard season for Liberty in 2023. At 6'2, over 200 pounds Daniels should be a solid replacement for Brian Thomas Jr. as the team's dominant outside "X" wide receiver.
Aaron Anderson is a lock to be the team's primary slot wide receiver that brings with him dynamic five star recruit athleticism. He already logged nearly 95% of his snaps last season in the slot for the Tigers and has been locked into that spot this off-season. He could have a real breakout season if Lacy or Daniels underwhelms on the outside.
Chris Hilton Jr. flashed at times last year averaging over 17 yards per reception for the Tigers in limited action. He should provide much needed rotational depth at outside wide receiver and potentially even start over CJ Daniels if he dominates camp. Hilton Jr. reportedly had a strong spring, but it remains to be seen if he brings the dynamism necessary to earn a significant role given LSU's high standard at wide receiver.
Zavion Thomas scored an explosive long touchdown in the spring game from Garrett Nussmeier and projects to be a potential splash play specialist this fall. He may not have a high snap count, but he's shown enough this spring that LSU fans should expect him to contribute.
Last, but perhaps not least, Kyle Parker was also turning heads at spring practice throughout late March . In fact he got some decent run with the first team as well. Kyle Parker was a highly touted 2023 freshman, but ended up redshirting last season due to the incredible talents ahead of him on the depth chart. Even if he doesn't contribute significantly this year his future looks bright for LSU.
