Thousands lined the grand parade route during Carnaval San Francisco on Sunday, led by Grand Marshal Dr. Rigoberta Mench Tum, 1992 Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Over 3000 colorful-- and many feathered-- parade participants drove, danced and walked the 20-block route in the city's Mission District.

With an "Honor Indigenous Roots" theme, the 46th Carnaval is the largest and longest-running multicultural celebration in California. It draws 400,000 attendees annually and generates $10 million for local businesses.
