Southern Oregon Coast razor clamming reopens between California and Coos Bay
SALEM & SOUTHERN COAST, Ore. -- Testing shows biotoxin levels are lower, to the point today of allowing razor clamming to open from Coos Bay to the California border. Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) say today that although other shellfish closures remain in place, razor clamming is now open from Coos Bay south jetty to the California-Oregon state line. They say two consecutive tests showed biotoxin levels below the closure limit in the area from Coos Bay to Cape Blanco, Oregon. The coast from Cape Blanco to California border reopened June 21.
