A student who filmed himself storming into a New York college administrator’s office and tearing down two pro-Israel banners is suing the school – and claiming the official “violently” attacked him. Purchase College administrator Paul Nicholson allegedly attacked sophomore Cesar Paul who went into his office and tore down a pair of banners that said “We Stand with Israel” on Dec. 12, 2023 because they made classmates feel threatened and marginalized, the student said in the lawsuit. Hudson Link: From Incarceration to Graduation
“Hudson Link, and college education, is not just a gift for that student, changing his life. It’s a gift for the people who are going back to their families, back to their communities and back to the world we all live in,” says Sean Pica, executive director of Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison. Hudson Link provides college educations, reentry support and life skills to incarcerated people in six correctional facilities, including two in Westchester County – Sing Sing in Ossining, and Taconic in Bedford Hills. For over 30 years, Greenwich High School has offered the Shapers of the World class, an interdisciplinary course that includes a rigorous English course taught by Mrs. Melissa Brown and an art history class taught by Mr. Ben Quesnel.
