The key to talking about mental health: ‘Make sure people feel comfortable.’
Chris Hopper said his leadership in mental health education began in 2018, when a colleague gave a moving speech at an event about losing his father to suicide. Knowing that the construction industry has a high rate of suicide, Hopper, executive vice president and general manager of Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee for Skanska USA, partnered with the Lindner Center of Hope. The Ohio-based mental health facility helped Hopper implement the Start the Conversation program, in an attempt to remove the stigma from sensitive topics on the jobsite.

Kentucky Motel Must Pay Over $2M After Man Fatally Suffers From 150-Degree Shower Burns
Econo Lodge Motel must pay the estate of Alex Chronis a total of $2.06 million after the 76-year-old man died after sustaining third-degree burns after shower at the motel. The estate originally filed the lawsuit in October 2022 in Kentucky’s Kenton County Circuit Court for $7 million in damages.

Robert’s Western World to Celebrate 25 Years With Block Party
On August 5th, Robert’s Western World, known as Nashville’s Home of Traditional Country Music, will celebrate its 25th year under the proprietorship of JesseLee Jones, the leader of its house band, Brazilbilly. Robert’s is taking over the stretch of Lower Broadway between Fourth and Fifth Avenues just outside of the venue for a block party.
