Winds affect offshore fishing, red snapper season
While much of the last week has been windier than we would like, we’ll put up with some extra summer wind if it brings some rain with it. Before this latest round of rain, much of the Cape Fear area was classified as being in moderate drought and a few areas were a step worse in extreme drought. The numbers aren’t in yet on exactly how much the latest rains helped alleviate our rain shortage, but there’s no doubt it helped. Several folks commented they were glad the downpours held off until after the Fourth of July celebration and that might be okay, but we’re sure glad it didn’t wait any longer.
